Welcome to the Magpie nest

Here, high up in the Mischief of Magpies tower, we soar above the ordinary, crafting books that tickle your imagination, sharpen your skills, and bring joy. Like a magpie with an eye for the best, we’re committed to quality and professionalism in everything we create.

Founded by Clare Baggaley, who worked as a Creative Director at a London publishing house for many years, we took fully flight in 2023. Clare’s vision was to create a unique collection of books that not only entertain but also empower readers of all ages.

We offer a diverse range of activity books for children and grown-ups, as well as beautifully designed diaries and notebooks. Our recently published Up Yours Menopause! activity book is just one example of how we aim to blend humour with empowerment, soon to be followed up with Up Yours Old Age! publishing summer 2025.

We named our publishing company "A Mischief of Magpies" to capture the playful, creative spirit that defines our work. Just as a group of magpies is known for its curiosity and cleverness, we bring the same lively energy and sharp eye for detail to every book we create.
